The Feather Tether Bird Harness and Leash - Small Size
The Feather Tether Bird Harness and Leash for birds can provide a safe way to take your bird outside. Developed with an avian veterinarian, the Feather Tether Bird Harness is a non-restrictive body harness. Leash is included with harness.
General Size recommendations are:
- Petite (60-115 grams): This is the average size for Cockatiels, Green Cheeks and other small conures.
- Small (116-310 grams): This is the average size for Quakers, Senegals, Hahn’s Macaws, Goffins, Timnehs, and large Conures.
- Medium (311-725 grams): This is the average size for Amazons, Congos, Umbrella Cockatoos, etc.
- Large (725-1,800 grams): This is the average size for Macaws, Moluccan Cockatoos, etc.
The petite and small sizes are a "figure 8" style looping harness, while the medium and large have clips and straps and goes around your bird's chest. The leash is 48" long with a loop on the end. If your bird will be primarily perching on your shoulder or another object, you'll want the leash attached in the front. If your bird will be walking, you'll want the leash to extend from the back.
Feather Tethers are NOT returnable due to health issues, so if in doubt of the size, check with us first. We will need to know your birds weight in grams or we will be unable to help you.
